safety around helicopters

T ake care around spinning main & tail rotor blades.
H ats & other loose items are easily blown around near helicopters.
I f the helicopter is starting or stopping – DO NOT approach or depart.
N ever carry long items vertically.
K eep a firm hold of all cargo.

A pproach & depart within sight of the pilot / crew.
N ever run.
D o not smoke in or within 15 metres of helicopter.

S tay outside the rotor disc until the pilot / crew give you a thumbs up.
T ell the pilot / crew if you load or remove any cargo.
A pproach and depart on the downhill side of a slope.
Y ield to dust, if blinded sit & await assistance.

A lways obey the crews directions.
L isten to the emergency procedures briefing.
I nside the helicopter always keep the seatbelt fastened.
V acate your seat only when instructed to do so.
E ar protection should always be worn.
